Dear Sir or Madam (as the case may be),
I saw your Job Ad and thought 'that's just for me'!
Right up my street, as you will no doubt agree,
So I penned this note (and enclose my CV)!

Unusual it may be to write all in rhyme,
But stand out it must (and I had some spare time),
So, please take a moment to read it through,
And then decide just what I can do for you!

23 years of experience (all in retail)
Far too much to cover here in much detail!
6 years of management I have just completed,
But of my abilities I am not conceited!

Self awareness and personal honesty come with age,
Only through experience can we ourselves gauge,
Suffice to say I truly know who I am,
And this isn't some joke or any kind of sham!

Enthusiastic, hard working, intelligent too,
There's just so much I am able to do,
Team player, a leader, and commercially aware,
You'll give me a chance if you know whats fair!

Team builder, coacher and one whose staff she can develop,
Motivator, enthuser and engager, all these skills I envelop!
Customer focussed, and plans for success,
There's no part of my role I fail to address!

Focussed and fair, with a high IQ,
You know there is so much that I can do,
Committed and able with high EQ,
Surely there's something I can do for you!

Admin, store standards, sales and communication,
All these I achieve whatever the situation,
Engaged and hands on, always willing to give,
My job is so much more than a wage to live!

Problem solving, analysis and lateral thinking,
Are much more fun for me than unlimited drinking!
I want to excel, to show who I am,
To show that I can, yes, I do give a damn!

Integrity and honour do matter to me,
They're a part of my core personality,
'Look after my people' is part of my creed,
Never ever sacrificed for personal greed!

I know I'm not perfect, few of us are,
But of my faults I am now more aware,
I learn from the past, but focus on the new,
I remain always positive and never feel blue!

At 44 yrs of age I'm still young at heart,
I want a place where I can play my part,
I'm immediately available and ready to start,
So you'll give me a call if you know whats smart!

So having read this, am I too good to be true?
Well now, there's only one thing left to do,
Give me a call, schedule an interview,
Let me show my true self to you!

A verse or three that Im considering using as a covering letter for my CV, let me know what you think, is it wise to send something in rhyme to try and grab their attention?
